A Bit of Christmas: December 5

It has been nice to see the quilted Christmas wall hangings, table runners and tree decorations that have recently been shared with us by our readers at 24 Blocks. We’ve selected a few to feature this morning. There’s still time to stitch up some for your own home, or for gifts. We hope these give you some ideas.

from Sharri Orndorff: “I have made many of these log cabin Christmas tree wall hangings over the years. This was my first one, for my first home in 1979.

We love how Sharri has decorated her tree with pearls and ribbons and that the packages below the tree have some bows. Notice, too, the star at the top of the tree. It’s beautiful work for a “first”, back in 1979!

from: Barbara Gibson: “This is a project that has been on my “to do” list since I first saw it last January……a gift for a friend :>)) Pattern can be found @ thecraftyquilter.com”

The use of embellishments and designs that provide depth add so much to quilted art done for holiday celebrations. It’s nice, too, to see a work that is framed, especially one of Joy!

from Annette Goetsch: “Got y 3 table runners finished for Christmas gifts.. now to bind them and get ’em to the sleigh.. :0)”

Table runners, ornaments, and tree skirts make such good gifts!

from: Mary Ellen Chatigny: “My best Christmas wall hanging is called Lone Pine an X-Blocks pattern by Quilt Queen Designs. I put sparkles on the “lone pine.””

Thanks to everyone who shares their enjoyment of Christmas and the other holidays that come at this season…all through quilted works that will be loved for generations.
