Valentines: Quilts with Hearts

Norma
Love grows like flowers and is as broad as the sky. This beauty, by quilter Norma Braden, has been very popular with our community at 24 Blocks. Her selection and placement of fabric blocks, with the red and calm green of the flowers and the soft aqua blue of tumbling hearts on a diagonal, just frames the heart with a soft contrast. Thanks, Norma, for posting it for us all to enjoy.

Shannon
Just as love changes on the inside, so do the hearts in this wonderful wall hanging by Shannon Banks. Notice the little colorful hearts in the cornerstone pieces that look like floating confetti. The whole work is delightful. Thanks, Shannon, for sharing it with our community at 24 Blocks.

Sheryl
Love reproduces. We just love the colors in this baby quilt made by Sheryl Wright. It’s so fresh and happy. Sheryl writes “A baby quilt I made with some of my scraps and quilted on my sewing machine. I made it to keep on hand in case I needed an “emergency” baby gift. An expectant friend saw it and claimed it for her soon-to-be-born daughter. I was happy to oblige because it meant I didn’t have to do another one right away, lol.” We love it, and the idea of “quilting ahead” because babies will always be on our horizons. Love has a way of keeping on! Thanks, Sheryl!

Karren

Love displays itself. Putting a quilted project under glass on a table reminds us that love should always be clear. We want to thank Karren Tinius for sharing this wonderful idea. She writes “My newest project, a 26″X26” “wall” quilt that fits perfectly under the glass on my table. The pattern is Hearts Delight, by Phoebe Moon (pattern #12103). A second one is in the works.” We really appreciate, too, that Karen gave the details of the pattern and its number.” Thank you!

Rozanne
Love goes around and doesn’t have to be complex. Rozann Mason shared her newest project with us, writing “I realized I don’t have a quilt that I’ve both pieced and quilted, so I’m making this lap quilt out of a Flirt Jelly Roll for me. I probably won’t have it done by Valentine’s Day, but it does go together fast.” It’s striking! We love it. Thank you, Rozann, for your post.
