Baby Quilt Monday: April 8

Retha Anderson made this quilt for her Grandson in 2005. The embroidered ducks, Retha writes, were taken from an old coloring book from back in 1963. The pieced blocks are “Goose Tracks”. It is a happy quilt… The duck embroidery is darling! Thanks, Retha, for sharing it with our 24 Blocks quilting community.

This unique quilt is by Patsy Cosby. She just says, “A quilt with an elephant on it”. That’s understatement. It draws the eye and makes us wonder where the elephant is going. The contrasting quilting on the diagonal gives it such depth. Thank you Patsy, again, for your post.

Jeanette Reid just simply writes “Baby quilt for a friend”. The colors and soft prints used in the quilt are modern and charming at the same time. It seems to have just the right amount of complimentary color and contrast.

This baby quilt has been very popular with our readers. It was made by Sheryl Wright who says that she collected fat quarters for it for about a year. The color combination is so beautiful and peaceful. The floral prints look like something right out of Jane Austen.

Thank you all for posting such great photos of the baby quilts you’ve made. It’s one of the best gifts we can give a new parent!
