On Saturdays we like to feature quilts and cats. Quilted cats. Cats on quilts. Cats helping quilt. Sometimes we let in dogs, too, or birds or whatever other kind of pet our readers love.
“We rescued Mr Bojangles from living in a car, now he spends a good part of the day with me in my sewing room.” — Peggy Andrews
A humorous and well done red work quilt posted by Marian Jane Wagoner.
“Sleeping Beauty. When the cat naps it is party time for mouse.
Foundation paper pieced. Foundation patterns from different sources.” — Shyamala Rao
“Justcompleted today! The pattern is PhatKats, which I purchased at a quiltshow in the spring. I free-motion quilted a row of mice in the border.” — Jo Kinnaly
“Buffy is still lobbying for her own Facebook account, preferring the quilting sites like her mom.” — Marian Maskow
“”Tesselating Cats”. Note pink “upside-down” cats in reverse. Cats toy “balls” are yo-yos.” — Marilyn White
We’d like to end this evening by showing part of the back of a lovely quilt made by Suzanne Gibson that we featured a few weeks ago. Suzanne made it in memory of her two cats. She placed many photos of the cats on the back as well as messages about them. She writes, “Also placed a copy of the poem Rainbow Bridge on the back. They were very special cats!” Thank you, Suzanne for sharing this with our 24 Blocks quilting community. It’s a wonderful way to help remember a loved pet.
Thanks to everyone who has posted great photos of the quilts and their pets. We had many posted and will feature more very soon! Stay tuned…
