Good morning from 24 Blocks. We hope everyone had a very good weekend and had time to get in a bit of quilting. To get our week started off we’d like to share a few quilts recently posted by our readers at the 24 Blocks Facebook page. We do inspire each other.
This wonderfully designed beauty, with so many symbols of love, home and hospitality, was made by quilter Jean Buchanan. Isn’t it beautiful!
Debbie McCoy writes that she made this quilt a few years ago for a granddaughter. It combines “Jacobs’s Ladder”, the Fan motif and applique. Notice this bow in the center, too. It all has a very lovely effect.
So many of us make quilts for family weddings and other occasions. It’s just one of those quilting traditions. This “Trinity Celtic Knot” was made by Mary Catherine Munnerlyn for a granddaughter’s wedding present. We know she will cherish it forever. We also noted that it is made using the traditional colors of Mardi Gras. There’s symbolism in those colors and well as the ancient interlocking Celtic knot.
Thanks to everyone who has shared their work with our quilting community at 24 Blocks! We hope you have a great quilting week.
