Good Sunday Morning from 24 Blocks!
Since many of us may not feel like we got enough sleep last night, while at the same time we feel so grateful that Spring is finally coming, we wanted to start the day out with some bright quilts. They have the look of the sun breaking through, a promise of exuberance. The first is an idea for a quilt square. It is ecstatic.
Thanks go to Liz, Shirley, Dawn, Jessica and everyone else who contribute so much to make 24 Blocks a vibrant quilting community.
from Liz Argotsinger: “We are starting a Quilt Barn Trail in our area. Many are large, and are going up on barns, garages and sheds. I gave a 2′ x 2′ piece of MDO sign board to an artist friend to see what she would make for a quilt square. Most are traditional blocks. This just took my breath away. Just amazing.“
from Shirley Lips: “I really enjoyed creating this quilt from scraps with my daughter. I was visiting her in Savannah when we made this lovely quilt – thus the name, Savannah Spring.“
from Dawn Augusta: “This Queen size quilt top is ready for the long arm quilter. The pattern is called Spinning Logs from the Winter 2012 edition of Quilters Newsletter’s Best FAT Quarter Quilts magazine. Fabric is the Cinnamon Spice collection by Blackbird Designs for Moda.”
from Jessica Schuyler: “Birthday gift I made for my niece.”
