On this New Years Eve we at 24 Blocks would like to wish all our quilting friends a very wonderful evening and a very good and happy New Year. Tonight we’ve selected a few quilts, from our readers’ posts, that have that feel of celebration. They’re happy quilts, alive and optimistic. We hope you enjoy seeing them tonight and that, maybe, they can inspire more color to be sewn into the remaining months of winter.
from Judi Hartman: “I’ve just finished a project for a friend, her daughter and her granddaughter – a long journey over the past 30 days. The daughter wanted a quilt made of baby clothes and knew she was over her head – hence it landed in my lap and I began to think, snip, pin and sew – the quilt ended up being 60 squares – all unique – bound together with strips of cotton that joined all the colors. It grew and grew – finally today after it had grown so much I had difficulty handling it and it was time for the delivery. Today it was delivered to a very thankful mother while the child was sleeping.”
Judi posted this before Christmas. We’re sure the baby was a wonderful Christmas present and that this very happy quilt will be loved and cherished her (or his) whole life!
Thanks to everyone who has helped to make 24 Blocks vibrant this year. Have a very happy New Years!
