Sometimes there are just some colors in quilts that catch your eye. This morning we’d like to highlight some of the quilts using soft blues or pinks that just seem tender. Sometimes that’s a good way to start a Monday.
Thanks go to Terry, Susie, and Kathy for sharing these. They all are treasures.
from: Susie Duncan Williams: “I’d like to share a quilt top I just finished. I based this original design on wonky stars and flying geese. I named it Polar Vortex, well, you know, the cold weather. It’s just looks cold. Not quilted yet. I have a few projects to complete before I get to that.”
from: Terry Denton-Harless: “I just wanted to share a picture one of my most treasured antique quilts.”
24 Blocks loves antique and vintage quilts. Terry’s is a beauty with wonderful quilting. We hope that everyone keeps a eye out in antique shops, estate sales and other venues for these hand-made treasures of the past. Too many of them are folded and stacked or hung on wire coat hangers rather than conserved. It’s just always good to see one that has been rescued and shown with pride.
from: Kathy Hoelz Dolezal: “I made this quilt for my granddaughter who just adores all the Disney princesses. I embroidered each block using my Brother Disney embroidery machine.”
