As evening comes on this Independence Day, we’d just like to featured three quilts that have recently been posted by our readers. The captions are in their own words. We hope the quilts inspire those who are new to quilting and, also for experienced hands, trying something new. As we all know, it’s the meaning a quilt carrys that has the value…
“Americana quilt” — Gail Woodruff
“Ijust finished an Orion Star patriotic quilt top. I ran into some bumps along the way but managed to work through them. It was a fun quilt pattern. I’m still learning this craft, each quilt is a new lesson learned.” — Kathy Thayer
“Iwas so inspired by all of the tie quilts posted on 24 Blocks! I only had 6 ties to work with but, I created this lap quilt. Btw, silk ties are not easy to quilt with!! They have a mind of their own!! Hence, the wavy border. I gave up trying to get straight lines and I think it turned out kind of cool in the end.” and ” My mother-in-law received it in the mail today and she was delighted with it. Definitely a feel good moment… Btw, this quilt is aptly named ‘Captain Wagner’.” — Tracy Wagner
Thanks to all of you and we wish everyone a very good evening this Independence Day!
