Several of our readers have posted photos of beautiful antique and vintage quilts and asked for help in identifying the pattern. Can you identify these beauties?
Kim Halloran writes that this elegant and stunning work of art was handed down by her husband’s aunt. The pieces are all silk and are stitched onto the black block. The burgandy borders are velvet. It is all hand stitched and quilted. The back is a silk print. It fits, of course, into Victorian design. Several of our readers have suggested what the pattern might be. Ideas include “Sunflower”, “China Aster” and a modified “Dresden Plate”. What do you think?
Karan Webb recently found this vintage beauty on a visit to Texas. She’d like to know the pattern name. Ideas?
Paula Workman would like to know the pattern for this quilt. We’ve had a few ideas so far, thanks to Mary G. who is just fantastic when it comes to quilt identification. Some of her ideas include: Desert Flower, Desert Rose, Boutonniere and Star Bouquet but none of those, Mary adds, has hexs for the setting sections. What are your ideas?
Thank you all! Happy Quilting!
